2010 Majors League : 2nd-3rd graders
The Majors league is for 2nd & 3rd graders and introduces competitive play with players pitching to each other and scores / standings being kept. A regulation "hard" baseball is used in this league. Pitching machines are used for some early season games while the kids develop their pitching skills.
Players must go through an evaluation process in late April and then coaches will "draft" players for their teams. This is meant to keep a "competitive balance" throughout the league. ALL players signing up for the Majors house league WILL be placed on a team even if they cannot make the evaluation date. We encourage all players to attend the evaluations.
See the evaluation date/time/locations here --> House League Evals
Games are 6 innings long (kid pitch) and 7 innings long (machine pitch) and are held on Wednesday evenings. Game start times are 6:30PM. Practices are scheduled by individual coaches. The regular season runs from May to mid-July. There is a mid-season Jamboree scheduled for Saturday, June 5 & Sunday, June 6, 2010. Each team will play one game on each day of the Jamboree at the beautiful Rogers North Community Park (NCP). Majors playoffs are tentatively scheduled for the week of July 22, 2010.
Rogers Area Youth Baseball establishes and enforce the rules for this league consistent with the player's ability and age level.
